WHAT:

JESTival was created by Genny Yosco in 2021 to add a boost of funny into that NYC "just turning into springtime but still kind of cold" air. While yes, the word "clown" is right there, we're not stuffy about it. Are you a SAD clown? A comedian? Is your show a laugh riot? Does your piece include clowning but you wouldn't specifically call yourself a clown? Are you the clown's evil counterpart, a mime? Something else? If you're unsure if your project fits the theme, just ask!

Formerly called the Down to Clown festival, but during our 2024 season someone took the Down to Clown name right as we were using it to create a monthly show, in the same WhatsApp group chat we ad others were using to promote the festival. Instead of taking the money and time to fight it legally, we just decided to change our name, even though we'd been using it for years. No, we are not being the bigger people about it, that was a weird thing to happen to us.

The show splits box office proceeds 50/50 with Sour Grapes Productions, no extra math required. Everyone gets 1 - 5 performances based on how many your company would like.
